Well, despite the fact Arsenal missed 2 penalties (Gilberto & Julio Baptista), they got through their tricky 4th Round FA Cup replay yesterday over Bolton Wanderers, a side that has given us fits the last few years with their physical (some would say "overly physical") style of play. I didn't see the match but listened to it via Arsenal TV Online & it sounded like for the most part we outplayed Bolton. I know they hit a post & a crossbar but we also missed 2 sitters (Gilberto Silva & Julio Baptista) & 2 penalties so sounds like we deserved the victory.
The match finished 3-1 in extra time with goals coming from Adebayor in the 1st half, 2nd half substitute Freddie Ljungberg (welcome back, Freddie!) in the 2nd extra time & Adebayor again in 2nd extra time stoppage time. Abdoulaye Meite had scored of a corner for Bolton in 2nd half stoppage time to send the match into extra time.
In light of the fact we've struggle away to Bolton in recent years, fielding a non-full strength side & getting a result like this away from home is an excellent result in my opinion. Sets up yet another good physical test against Blackburn at the Emirates Stadium this saturday in the FA Cup 5th round.
Come on you Gooners!

I'm Wicked Smart, Suckas!
I called it this afternoon! The "kid" who shot & killed 5 people in a Salt Lake City mall while critically wounding 4 others & whose condition is still in doubt was named Solejman Talovic & was a Bosnian Muslim immigrant. I knew this afternoon when I read that name that there was a ridiculously high chance that he was going to be a Muslim. But watch how the news media tries their damnedest to turn this into a Columbine-like copycat crime & not a Muslim-influenced hate crime against the West.
I'm not even going into the conversation about Islam is a "religion of peace." I know this, I've heard it before, I understand it, however I'm also not dumb enough to believe that people can use Islam as an influence in these shootings (such as the one in Seattle last summer & the injuring of students on a North Carolina college campus earlier) by distorting the teachings to fit their own selfish agendas & then espousing these distortions to impressionable youths.

Driving Rant
For the last God Damn time, people, it's the fucking pedal on the right! That's the accelerator. Got it? Don't hang in the left lane on the Interstate, chilling in my blind spot for miles & miles... put the effort in, summon the will & strength to move your foot the extras 1/4 inch & depress the accelerator the extra 5 MPH bump to pass me like a man. The longer you hang out there, the higher the chance we make contact. It's a simple concept. You don't want to risk the extra 5-10 MPH b/c you're scared to get a ticket, don't fucking pass. Simple concept too.
And why do you decide to speed up & not want to be passed when I attempt to pass? Get your feelings hurt? It's like the rest of life & you get envious & jealous for somebody passing you by? Drive the same god damn speed & I won't have to pass your sorry ass.
I hate you Bamas... y'all are the worst at this. "Ain't no Jew-looking boy gonna pass me & my Tiiiide! Roll Tide!"
Well, fuck you, Brodie! Quit being a No-Passhole! I bet you're so pleased with yourself in your crimson colored pick-up (shhhhh, I won't tell anybody it's really a red truck & not crimson). Now make like a running back & drive faster or get the fuck out the way!

Quick Update...
Ok, I was out of town back in Louisiana this weekend, so here's a quick rundown:
New York Rangers won their two games since thursday, 5-0 over the Tampa Bay Lightning & 5-2 over the Washington Capitals.
Also, the Rangers traded Adam Hall to the Minnesota Wild for Pascal Dupuis. I don't kow if he's related to Blake Dupuy nor do I know if he knows how to program in Pascal.
Arsenal beat Wigan, 2-1 with a Fitz Hall own goal & Tomas Rosicky header.
Milan beat Livorno, 2-1. Goals from Ivan Gattuso & Marek Jankulovski.
And finally, Ajax beat ADO Den Haag, 2-1 with goals from Johnny Heitinga & the 'Hunter,' Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

USA 2, Mexico 0 In Friendly in Arizona
How's it feel again, Mexico? Another loss to us, Gringos. 2-0! Golas by Jimmy Conrad off a corner & Landon Donovan icing the match on a fortuitous breakaway after a ball deflected off the referee.
And once again, for the umpteenth time after losing to the Americans, the Mexican players so "graciously" refused to shake hands with their victorious opponents. What's wrong, Chico? No deportation for illegal immigrants & free healthcare & benefits to non-US citizens at the expense of US Taxpayers aren't enough? Consider it Karma rebound, Pablo. You had your baby (soccer/football) & now we're kicking your ass at that too. USFuckingA, Sanchez!

Crapola! New York Rangers Lose In Shootout to New Jersey Devils, 3-2
Another loss for the New York Rangers tonight. This time in the shootout to the New Jersey Devils. Karel Rachunek & Jaromir Jagr popped in goals for the Rangers but had all 3 shootout attempts stopped by Martin Brodeur. Poop!
Agitator Steve Avery played well in his 1st game with the Rangers though & even chipped in an assist on the powerplay for the Rangers' 1st goal.
Rangers pick up a point for the shootout loss, but they need three points that wins provide these days as everybody is scrambling around for playoff positions & the Rangers... are starting to fade out of the playoff picture unfortunately.

New York Rangers Lose Again
The New York Rangers blew a 3-1 lead at the start of the 3rd period last night going down to the Detroit Red Wings, 4-3. Ranger fans can complain all they want or come up with excuses whey the Rangers collapsed last night, but in my opinion the Rangers lost last night b/c I started watching the game at the beginning of the 3rd period. Sorry about that fellow Rangers!
But it looks like the Rangers are doing their yearly January/February nosedive. I don't have the records in front of me but last night's loss has to be something like the Rangers' 8th loss out of the last 10 games or so. It's getting to the point where you can almost right off the legitimate chances of going to the playoffs this year... I weep!
P.S. I still hate you, Dominik Hasek.

So anywho, it's my birthday & I'm 32 today. I went to a friends wedding over the weekend (congratulations, Brian & Sara!) & was a mite bit disapointed. Hardly any single women at all in attendance & the best looking one of those was only 12. Relax, you equivocators, I'm no pedophile, I'm just saying the flower girl is going to be a really beautiful woman when she grows up, you could see it already.
So with the disappointment of the wedding's pickings, the major hangover that I suffered through yesterday, & it being my birthday I'm in a pissy mood...
I want to thank you, Ben Stein, for putting so succintly the way it is in the world. It's one thing to talk in these abstract concepts & hopeful wishes for the world, it's another to live in the cold, hard reality of how things really are. You don't like oil companies so much? Sell your car & ride a bike. Oh yeah, get a wood burning stove or fireplace to heat your home or go electric or solar power too. Also, I want to give a shout out to Baller for sending me this link:

I Don't Like You But This Morning I Give You My Respect, Peyton Manning
So you finally got your title, Peyton. Congratulations on winning the Super Bowl against Da Bears. Coincidentally enough you beat a former University of Florida QB (Rex Grossman- Oy vey! When you stink it up, Rex, you REALLY stink it up!) which is something you couldn't do when you were at the University of Tennessee. Maybe Phil Fulmer was just holding you back, Peyton, with his roving band of tattling future felons of America.
Anyway, congratulations, Peyton, & congratulations to former LSU Tigers, Joseph Addai & Booger McFarland on your Super Bowl victories as well.
Geaux Tigers!

Bradyball Sucks Balls Again
LSU lost to Mississippi St. yesterday afternoon, 78-85. It's a good thing I don't pay much attention to LSU basketball otherwise I'd be pissed. John Brady... you're garbage.
Mike Riley, You Are A Horrible Premiership Ref

Arsenal drew with Middlesbrough yesterday, 1-1, in a somewhat expected manner. With all the fixtures & injuries we've had lately, Arsenal looked a bit tired from the recent number of fixtures they've played lately. Although, fixture congestion ia the kind of problem you'd like at your club & it's not a good excuse.
However, what is a good excuse is Mike Riley totally blowing the penalty call for Boro. Not only was it not a penalty but the "foul" occurred a good two yards outside the box. Yakubu had been going down to ground at the slightest possibility of contact all afternoon long, so perhaps Philippe Senderos could be blamed for not noticing that & putting himself in a bad situation especially with Mike Riley, FA Referee & Man Utd penalty-fairy officiating the match. What's that? Mike Riley awarded a penalty against Arsenal? Go figure.
Anyway, Arsenal tied the score at one in the 77th minute with a goal from Thierry Henry after a controversial moment where it looked like Jens Lehmann might have stepped out of the penalty area with the ball in his hand. So in the end the controversial moments evened out I suppose.
Lineups & my match rating (out of 10):
Lehmann, 7
Hoyte, 5.5
Kolo Toure, 6
Senderos, 5.5
Clichy, 6.5
Flamini, 6
Fabregas, 6
Gilberto, 6.5
Rosicky, 7
Adebayor, 6
Henry, 7
Subs: Denilson (nr) for Hoyte at 80'; Aliadiere (nr) for Adebayor at 86'
