Glavine 1 Win Away From 300, Mets Top Pirates, 6-3
Tom Glavine is just one win short of the lofty 300 club. While he'll most likely never reach the truly elite echelon of wins like Clemens & Maddux have, Glavine needs just that solitary win to join one of baseball's most exclusive clubs- 300 Wins.
Not bad at all for a guy who has made his living off of getting called strikes a good foot or so off the outside black for a the better part of 2 decades. Maddening for me when he was a Brave, truly scrumptious since he's now a Met. Hurrah.
Boxscore.
No word or not if Mookie Wilson was in attendance according to unnamed sources & one source who doesn't have a name but said he'd have given it if he had one.
That's move the Mets up to 57-43 & giving them a current 3.5 game lead on Atlanta with the Bravos playing San Fransicko later tonight on the Left Coast.
New York Mets' Notes & Transaction list for July.
